Warranty and Return Policy
Most of our inventory is composed of used equipment, and are sold as collector's items. Collectors have as their first priority that the piece be original; their second priority is that the piece be functional. Much of the equipment was not terribly good when it was new, and only has value because of its rarity or uniqueness.
The key part of our warranty and return policy is that you may return any item for any reason within 7 days from your receipt of the item (or 14 days from the date of shipment, whichever is
earliest) without a restocking fee-provided it is returned in its complete, original condition.
We Are Easy to Deal With
If you receive a item and it is not as you expected we will take it back if arrangements are made with us within 7 days of your receipt of the item (or 14 days from the date of shipment, whichever is earliest). We ask that you be realistic about your needs. Expecting shutter accuracy on a 50 year-old camera might be unrealistic, especially for some cameras. Likewise with expecting a 40 year-old selenium meter to be accurate.
Our Approach:
- We avoid buying items that are not working correctly. If something slips past us we try to catch it and repair it before we sell it. Sometimes the scarcity of parts, excessive time required to perform a repair, or the age of the equipment prevents us from making a repair.
We try to know and communicate to you the condition of each piece.
- We carry a very large inventory, and are not capable of thoroughly testing every item. For example, we usually test to see if a shutter operates, but we do not test its accuracy unless this is a condition of sale.
- Please include in your request to purchase that you need the item to be fully operational. Be as specific as possible about your needs, and please be realistic about them as well.
- If we represent the equipment as functional when it leaves here, we will warranty it for up to 35 days from the date of shipment. Please contact us as soon as possible with any problem. We would like the opportunity to repair these pieces, if possible.
- We are usually willing to make minor adjustments so that you are satisfied with your purchase. However, we would prefer to do this before an item is shipped. So again, we ask that you clearly communicate your requirements to us.
- For some collectible items we may ask for a service charge to make the repair which you find necessary. If you want something overhauled we can arrange for that, at an added charge. We would then provide a 180 day warranty instead of the standard 35 days.
