Hello
Your Bolex lens is definately a "C"-mount lens.
Bolex had two types: the ordinary lens (i.e. yours) for their non-Reflex 16mm models, and the RX-lenses for the Reflex models. The RX lenses had a larger clearance from the flange to the focussing point so as to allow space for the beamsplitter prism for reflex viewing.
Also, the non-reflex models had a thicker turret mount than your Bell&Howell, and that is the reason why your lens will not screw home: it did on the Bolex turret.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating - why not film a short length of film with the Bolex lens screwed into your B&H as far as it will go. If the results are acceptably sharp - problem solved.
One more point: your older Bolex lens will not focus (more accurately: not cover the full frame) correctly on the Bolex Reflex models, but the Reflex-lenses will focus and work with/on the non-reflex models.
For Bolex (or B&H) literature on lenses or cameras or their usage, try Oldtimer Cameras in the UK. They have complete sets.
